In association with our local weekly newspaper the Carluke and Lanark Gazette, we are giving you the opportunity to win two concert tickets to see John Renbourn & Robin Williamson in April.
Folk heroes John Renbourn and Robin Williamson will be appearing at Biggar Municipal Hall on Saturday April 4, The two legends were among a number of artists who helped kickstart the folk revival of the 1960s as key members of folk bands Pentangle and The Incredible String Band.
Both have an incredible array of musical talent and it's clear that the gig, hosted by Clydesdale Folk Club, is likely to be a sell-out.
Folk club member Chris McCosh said: "Both of them can be described as legendary performers in folk circles. "John Renboum is one of the great guitarists while Robin Williamson is an incredible multi-instrumentalist. It's a massive coup for us to have the two of them coming to Biggar. "It's very exciting to have them playing as there are musicians around the world who have been influenced by them."
The gig in Biggar is the only one in central Scotland, with the duo also playing in Mull and St Andrews. It is rumoured that this will be their last UK tour together. This could therefore be one of the only concerts left for fans in Scotland to see them in action The Gazette has teamed up exclusively with Clydesdale Folk Club to give away two tickets to this very special performance.
