2006 David Roberts Award...
...a silver plate for Gold

The David Roberts Memorial Plate is awarded annually to a promising young traditional musician in South Lanarkshire. The 2006 recipient is accordionist Jim Gold from Douglas. Jim has played accordion for approx seven years, taught by Keith Dickson and recently formed the Jim Gold Scottish Dance Band which won first place at the NAAFC Festival at Musselburgh this year. Jim is a member of KODA and featured on the CD "Alternative Frequency" as well as performing in Germany last year and at this year's "T in The Park".The presentation was made by Simon Thoumire at the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician 2007 semi finals at Coulter Hall in October; a Clydesdale Folk Club supported event.Congratulations to Jim from all of the Clydesdale Folk Club.
