TOUCHWOOD play the Elph'
TOUCHWOOD play the Elph'
This month, Clydesdale Folk Club welcome as guests, local duo Touchwood, from Lanark. They are probably better known to local music fans as Hunter McConnell and Dougie Semple. Hunter and Dougie have been playing for some time now as a duo and host the Crown open mic. sessions. They are also part of the organizational team for the forthcoming Lanark Music Connections at the beginning of September.
Their music covers a wide variety of styles but mainly folk and blues with a touch of jazz added and their individual pedigrees go back a few decades.
Hunter was at one time member of the well known band Setanta, playing in Europe as well as at home. Dougie has been in such bands as The Viagra Kings and Marjorie Harrison and ran the excellent folk nights in the Cartland Bridge Hotel in the late 70’s.
What promises to be a great night of music starts at 8.00pm on Thursday 26th August in the upstairs lounge of the Elphinstone Hotel in Biggar. Admission will be £5 payable at the door.
