Biggar bells ring for Maggie - Gazette
Biggar bells ring for Maggie - Gazette

FOLK fans are in for a treat as favourites Maggie Bell and Chris Farlowe head to Biggar.
George Simpson, from Clydesdale Folk Club, said: "Maggie is perhaps best known as the lead singer with Stone the Crows in the late 60s and early 70s.
"She also has a string of hits as a solo artiste and sang the theme song to Taggart, No Mean City. Hold Me was another hit, in collaboration with BA. Robertson.
"Chris Farlowe has been playing blues since the late 50s, with the Thunderbirds, Atomic Rooster and Colosseum some of the many bands he has been in.
This past decade has seen him touring extensively with Norman Beaker and his band. Out of Time is perhaps Chris's best known song."
Local favourite Jim Duncan will be providing support on the night and is always well received in the town.
Jim, who is also well known as a member of Green Goblin, is an excellent performer in his own right and has recently released a solo acoustic album Down by the Riverside to great acclaim.
Tickets priced £15 (£12 members) are still available for this exciting concert and are on sale at Atkinson Pryce Bookshop in Biggar High Street, the Biggar Little Festival box office in the Gillespie Centre or online from the Biggar Little Festival website on www.biggar-little-festival.com
The concert is at Biggar Municipal Hall on Saturday, October 29 and doors will be open at 7.15pm for an 8.00pm start.
