A night of 'Ragged Glory'
Clydesdale Folk Club will be hosting a night with Midlothian based band, Ragged Glory.
Ragged Glory met and began playing in 2006 at Nitten Folk Club, Newtongrange and had their sell out debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2010. Since then they have been building a reputation for their performances at folk clubs throughout Scotland.
This was followed by two further sell out shows during last year's Fringe, earning Ragged Glory a 'Sell Out Garland' for the second year running.
The debut CD, 'Quiet Joys', produced by Ian MacCalman, was released in 2010, receiving great reviews. The CD consists of songs by Dougie Maclean, Karine Polwart, Robert Burns, Stan Rogers, Rowland Salley, Jim Weatherston and Charlie Milne and Phil Spector.
Ragged Glory have always said that their purpose was to have fun, and they found that singing good songs with strong harmonies helped towards that end.
At Celtic Connections 2012, they played alongside notable Scottish folk legends Ian McCalman, Barbara Dickson and Dick Gaughan in the show "Far, far from Ypres", a special concert with an array of songs connected to World War I The show was a massive success and will be performed again at this year's Edinburgh festival.
Support act for the evening will be singer, songwriter and clarsach player, Pauline Vallance whose fine performance, linked with her humorous anecdotes was well received at the Douglasdale Folk Festival back in September.

The concert will be at the Elphinstone Hotel in Biggar on Thursday 29th March at 8.00pm. Admission will be £8 ( £6 for members) at the door on the night.
